Lithium battery spot welding machines can be divided into six major categories based on their shape, as follows:
1,How to improve the efficiency of battery spot welding machines?
There are two concepts for improving the efficiency of using battery spot welding machines:
(1) Improving the utilization efficiency of the welding machine;
(2) Reducing the maintenance time of the welding machine and gradually achieving the goal of no maintenance or minimal maintenance. “No maintenance” or “reduced maintenance” for operation and maintenance is a good thing, but it is related to product quality. Therefore, the only way to improve the efficiency of using welding machines is to improve the quality of newly manufactured welding machines.
2,How to deal with the failure of battery spot welding machines:
(1) The welding material has good conductivity and should increase the spacing. For example, when spot welding aluminum alloy, the spacing is about 30% larger than when spot welding stainless steel.
(2) Clean the surface of the parts before spot welding with a mid-frequency spot welding machine.
(3) For distributed welding points, appropriate selection of spot welding sequences should be made.
(4) Use irregular-shaped electrodes to avoid accidental contact points and generate shunting.
(5) When spot welding different materials and thicknesses, the electrode should be placed on the side with greater branch resistance (i.e., thin plate or poor conductivity).
3,Four processing steps for handling failures in battery spot welding machines.
A. If the foot pedal of the spot welding machine does not work and the power indicator light is not on:
(1) Check if the power supply voltage is normal; check if the control system is normal, and if there are any sticking or burning of the contact points and the selector switch of the communication contacts.
B. There should be no spatter during welding:
(1) Check if the electrode head has been oxidized.Check if the welded workpiece is severely rusted and in poor contact.
(2) Check if the adjustment switch is too high.
(3) Check if the electrode pressure is too small and if the welding program is correct.
C. Deep welding spot indentations with extrusion:
(1) Check if the current is too large.Check if the welded workpiece is non-uniform.
(2) Check if the electrode pressure is too high and if the cross-section and shape of the electrode head are appropriate.
D. The welded workpiece strength is insufficient:
(1) Check if the electrode pressure is too small; check if the electrode rod is securely fastened; check if the welded workpiece is severely rusted or in poor contact.
(2) Check if there are excessive oxides between the electrode head and electrode rod, and between the electrode rod and electrode arm, particularly on the electrode tip, which may reduce welding energy due to wear.
(3) Check if the copper soft joint and electrode are severely oxidized.
